Dammit! stupidness my images of Orlando doesnt work anymore. blah

Johnny English SUCKED. Honestly with all these movies coming out taking cheap stabs at the Queen, I wonder why Her Majesty isn't more offended...but then again, what can she do about it. E.g. "Well now that i have her Majesty's permission"(Tomb Raider II) -gosh, how original a comeback.

Rowan Atkinson should stick to NOT speaking. Love his accent and all, but the movie was just absymal. not funny in ANY sense and the scenes and situations were just proposterous. Oh sure i suppose it could be argued that the outrageous situation that the movie is about is what makes it funny...but really..it's just the film companies running out of ideas. Would have possibly been better had they tried to make the dialogues wittier..but alas, we were deprived of that too. blah, it was boring and i ABSOLUTELY wanted to walk out and into another theatre quite possibly 1/4 of the way through.

Hmm, what else is new...

ah yes:
Two weeks off begining Aug 5! whoohoo!
then it's countdown of 11 more days of work before i go back to school; which i am TOTALLY looking forward to

Things to do during the off time:

find crap (ie furniture ) TO haul
GET MY G LICENSE before my license EXPIRES next yr!

Thanks Rob!

LOTR: the two towers
(sliding down the stairs ;)

Pirates of the Lost Caribbean (dueling with Johnny Depp ;)

OOOOOOOOOO, ORLANDO BLOOM. these are his BEST scenes I must say
an ACTION event

very fun. went to The Docks for the day starting at 4.30pm. $10 was supposed to be cover for dinner but well, it wasnt much of a dinner so much as a snack. honestly, platters of pizza and wings arent realy much of a dinner; however, the free drinks totally made up for it. oh and free entry into the club was pretty decent too.

so, the events during the day were pretty lame: vollyball tournament (ech, after elementary school...vball doesnt strike my fancy), relay races and rock climbing (which was ok). my fingers suffered from lactic acid build-up from wall climbing but well worth it.

dinner was disappointing - as was mentioned

free drinks started at 8pm. whoo hoo! the company gave us all casio-like chips to use at the bar. Smirnoff was promoting Smirnoff Black so everyone there got a free bottle as they were handing it out around the docks so that was Kick Ass. and not to promote them or anything cuz im not getting any commission, but Black tastes so much better. more fruitier a taste even tho its still lime-vodka cooler...weird

many drinks later, we hit the dance floor since the club starts getting packed at around 11. ooh fun times :D
ive reached the conclusion that in order to dance uninhibited, Wnd here needs two coolers and a drink before hitting the dance floor...of course, the disappointing thing is that the alcohol wears off in about/exactly 15 mins after consumption (hence my coherent blog). blast...good thing i got it for free tonight ;)

sleep now. review of Johnny English tmr (JUST stupid enough to be funny :)

Finally saw LXG today.

It was pretty good. i didnt even know Shane West was in it - that dude in A walk to Remember with Mandy Moore. He's not so bad..i think mandy brought him down (blah what an airhead "like totally")
and then there's Stuart Townsend (Queen of the Damned) *sigh*. He was cool..and immortal. Something so darkly alluring about immortals and vampires (hmm sadistic? why, not at all!)

oh and the effects they used for Dr Jekll / Hyde, i have no idea why they didnt use that technology for The Hulk. It was so believable and not at all cartoony like in The Hulk. impressive

Overall, the movie was quite good. I'd recommend it but not if there's something else better to take its place..say Tomb Raider. but that's just my opinion.

In other news:

New sandals, Yea! (dont worry, the euphoria will wear out soon enough)

New~ Sandals! yea!
Spending money is fun (and fast)

When all hope was lost that I shall ever find a pair of sandals this season, I FOUND SANDALS. WHOOHOO!!! this is me very happy.

Let me regale you with the 'TALE OF THE ELUSIVE SANDALS'
So halfway through the summer, I finally realized that what i needed most was a pair of heeled sandals...and off i went on my quest. Finally having tracked down a decent, somewhat different looking, pair I was told that they were all out of sizes, my colour, and while every other pair was on sale-mine was not.
OK fine, check the other stores i asked them....no, none of the other FOUR Aldo stores had anything either! I pretty much drove across the city trying to find either: my style, size, and colour. Scarb Town Cntr, Fairview, Markville and Yorkdale (I had them call)

What are the chances of that happening???? (ya nvrmind that the store was doing a huge sale...whatever~)
I gave up

Eh, so i walked into Le Chateau thinking that MAYBE i'll find something there (almost a last resort). and indeed i did!! not too shabby looking but the style that every other girl would wear...ah who cares, it was 20 bux. they had my size, colour. So i asked the sales person to get the other shoe (left side) for me....and SHE CANT FIND THE OTHER SHOE

WTF???
I had the right shoe, no left shoe and everything else left was either HALF A SIZE to big or small. It's a sign, i was not meant to have sandals this seaon

....until today. Had to go up to the ACTION office to pick up stuff....went to a small plaza and FOUND MY SHOES.
stupidness
damn the big city and it's hoards of shoe-buying nuts

But, have scandals now and am VERY HAPPY. Yea me! (hmm..very Bridget Jones sounding)

Jonny Depp

Eh, just for the heck of it. He was hilarious..really good lines

PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN

VERY cool movie.
It has awesome sword fighting scenes, cool looking ships, witty script, Jonny Dept, Geoffery Rush, ORLANDO BLOOM - what more do you need??

Honestly, I wasnt expecting much going into the theatre...Disney has never really turned out good movies that weren't animated. I was surprised, this movie had more humour and wit than a lot of the movies I've seen this year ~ bravo Disney, my respect for you has been restored (well, for the time being :)

mmmmmmmm Orlando Bloom mmmmmmmmmmmm, yummy

check out the movie's site, (http://pirates.movies.go.com) the behind the scenes footage is worth looking at, and yet another way to kill some time (cuz i have so much of it these days)

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist...well, yes i could've but i dont wanna. Enjoy!
